August first approached Tramaine with the idea of creating visuals for his album, Space For Sweeter. What began as a simple music video concept quickly evolved into something much more—a piece that could transcend the traditional boundaries of music promotion and find a home in artistic spaces like galleries and museums. For Tramaine, the project became an opportunity to translate the profound, lyrical beauty of August’s music into something tangible, something visual. The goal wasn’t just to accompany the music but to evoke the same vibrant emotions it stirred within him—a feeling of peace and prosperity emerging from a void. The visual narrative unfolded like the gentle, fluid movements of a butterfly, as if the audience themselves were being carried on its delicate wings. Together, they envisioned a piece that left the audience with more than just a momentary impression. They wanted viewers to feel calmness, joy, and pride, all flowing together in harmony—a quiet yet powerful reminder of the beauty that can be found even in stillness.
The team behind the project largely hailed from Dallas, bringing together a mix of familiar collaborators and new partnerships. Justin Hamilton, the Director of Photography, and Tramaine have worked on numerous projects together, and this one marked a new milestone in their growing portfolio. Grant Wakefield (Weekend Video) reconnected with Tramaine for this project after a brief meeting years ago during Tramaine’s time at White Unicorn Agency. Grant joined the team as producer, adding his expertise to the production. For set design, Tramaine enlisted his longtime friend and collaborator, Patricio Rivera (Twelve Thirty Four Flowers), to construct the lush garden where the cast performs. All the flowers were imported and meticulously maintained over the course of the two-day production at MPS Studios. The studio also provided the technical team and the Bolt Arm, enabling the sweeping camera movements that brought dynamic visual prominence to the film. Careful planning and on-site engineering ensured the seamless flow of these shots. Bianca Melidor, Sierra Jones, and Carmen Cage choreographed the stunning dances featured in the film. Tramaine had previously collaborated with Bianca and Sierra on his award-winning film SALLAD, further cementing their creative synergy on this project.
