Director Biography - Clare O'Connor

Clare O'Connor is an actress, writer, and artist based in Los Angeles. As an actress, she appeared as a series regular opposite Kelsey Grammer on Proven Innocent (FOX), in various guest and co-starring roles on ABC, NBC & Netflix, and in many feature films and shorts. With a background in dance, visual art and writing, Clare completed over a decade of professional ballet training, and is also a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (for fiction writing and visual art), as well as Second City Chicago's Conservatory program (for improv and sketch). She continued her improvisation studies in NYC, LA, and Seattle with teacher Gary Austin (founder of the Groundlings), among others. KIND MOTHER is her first film as writer/director.


About the Team

An estranged mother arrives at the silent retreat that her daughter is attending. When the two women engage in an unusual - and fantastical - power struggle, limits are tested, generational trauma is brought to light, and together they must grapple with mortality.
