This film is for you!

After one too many flight days, during a delusional midnight packing, the idea for this wacky, fun film was conceived.

We enlisted Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra, You're the Worst, Stan Against Evil, Platonic) to play and voice the role of a lifetime - a shoe.

An incredible crew, many of whom are alums of the Baylor University film department, made this film a reality, and gave a warm welcome to a NYC-based filmmaker, and and LA based leading lady.

About the Project

Chen Drachman is an Israeli-American, award-winning actress and filmmaker based in NYC.

Chen’s first film, The Book of Ruth, starring Tony and Emmy Awards nominee Tovah Feldshuh, has been in over 40 festivals in the U.S. and abroad, including the Academy-Award Qualifying Cinequest, and the Canadian Screen Award Qualifying Vancouver International Film Festival.

The film won multiple awards and since it concluded its festival run, it has had more than 150K views online through Omeleto.

Her newest film, But I'm a Shoe, starring The Legend of Korra's Janet Varney had its world premiere at the Academy-Award qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival in November 2024. It is set to have its international premiere in April 2025, at the Academy-qualifying Lebu International Film Festival in Chile. Her newest short script, Blood and Sex Over Ambition, was a quarter finalist at the Hollyshorts script competition and a semi-finalist at the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival script competition. A recipient of the 2024-2025 Inwood Film Festival grant, it is set to film in 2025.

Blood and Sex Over Ambition is a short, historical-fiction dramedy film set in the art world. It’s aimed at explaining what transpired between Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin in the winter of 1888, through a queer lens.

Authentic quotes from correspondence from the time have been integrated into a wacky script with high stakes.
